I’ll make this a short one. It’s Black Friday as I write this, and I have a long weekend ahead of me. I’m putting up an illustration I finished earlier this week, and haven’t posted yet. I think the reason is obvious. When I was planning it out, the frame made sense, but seeing the final product, I really need to see more of their legs. It’s way too high up a shot. It just looks so awkwardly cut off, and I hate it. So I’m going to go back sometime soon and do a little more on the low end of the image. There will probably be some other tweaks here and there. I don’t currently anticipate a fully new draft, but who knows, right?
Why not do that already? Because I had an idea for a fun four-page comic that I wanted to strike on immediately. It’s a fun flavor thing, it’s seasonal, and it’s the kind of thing I need to do while I have the momentum on it. I also like stretching my legs a little before I get cracking on the big book. I have the designs, enough references, thumbnails, a script, and my pages all ready to go, so all that’s left is to draw it. It’s short and I’m feeling confident, so I could have it finished by next week. I mean, given my hours, that sounds a little ambitious, but you know, challenging myself.
