Dragon Ball ‘Redux’

This is my beloved Dragon Ball fan fiction, which I’ve been working on for quite some time. I’ve actually worked on a lot of different fanfics for the series for my own enjoyment, and this is the most expansive and well-defined original works I’ve done in that family. It’s also the only one I’ve ever published for others to enjoy on Tumblr, which I hear isn’t doing great right now, and I’ve forgotten how to get popular on it (if I ever knew). So, I hope people find it here. This is my favorite fan fiction I’ve made, and other than the overarching series name ‘Redux’, I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.

This fan fiction features all original characters in an all original story set in a new world based on the concepts of the Dragon Ball franchise. It’s not connected to anything the Z Fighters are doing or the events of the series, and is set in a fully separate cosmos from the one we see in the series. I wanted to take all the things I like best about DB and make something new and my own. I also challenged myself to come up with new opportunities and ideas as much as possible by not using the same opportunities and techniques as seen in the series; for instance, since King Kai isn’t in this world, there is no Kaio-ken, so I had to come up with something else. I also took some liberties with certain ideas, where I saw room, though not too many.

This fan fiction is divided into distinct series, in a similar manner as Dragon Ball, Z, GT, and Super. It’s become a convenient organizational tool for me. It starts with ‘Alpha’ and moves along in the Greek alphabet from there (and yes, the single quote marks are the silly reference you think they are). I’ve also included a few “movies” in the form of interlude stories, so that I can focus on characters outside the main cast and introduce things that are hard to include in the main story. This is novel-length, and I only have the first two series complete; as I write this, I’m working on the third, with at least one major series to follow. All that to say, there’s plenty to enjoy, so I hope you do and stick with me as I tinker with the story until it’s completed.
